Grandma and Al

Grandma

Grandma is a victim of Grandpa's cruelty. She is mean back though so pity is not felt. She was not in the book long. She is very religious and she died soon after grandpa. Ma laid with her in her final moments and for several hours after she was dead.

Al

At first, Al seemed to be jealous of Tom, but by the end of the novel I figured out that it was not jealousy, but it was admiration. Al looked up to his older brother, but he eventually got over that and grew up himself. He is very skilled when it comes to cars and he is obsessed with girls like most teenage guys. He plays the girls though, but we see him transition into an adult when he matures enough and decides to marry a girl named Aggie.
