Chapter 13.
This chapter is about the joads on the road. They need to stop at a gas station to get gas and they drive onto find a place on the side of the road to sleep. They come across a couple and they welcome them in. Grandpa is sick and has a stroke in the other couples tent. He dies and they bury him and have a small prayer. The other family is in desperate need of a car repair and they have little money left. By the end of the night everyone is okay with grandpa being dead. Tom and al have an idea. They think the other couple should come along with them. Al says he will fix their car and then thy can put some of their stuff onto the other car and a few people can ride in the other car with the couple. They think this is a great idea and thy go to bed. The women from the other couple has been sick and says if she gets sick they should go on without her and they refuse. The chapter concludes with the women laying down in severe pain.
Chapter 14.
This chapter was about tractors taking over peoples live. People are getting evicted so that more crops can grow and their work isn't needed because they have machines to do it. It brings up the point of how people are relying on each other just to survive.
