Chapter 9
Chapter 9 was about the land tenants having to sell their stuff. They had to choose what to take, what to leave , what to sell. The people buying the stuff from them weren't giving them nearly enough money and this angered them. They decided to burn their things before they got underpaid for it. I think this is horrible that they had to choose what to do. It would be so hard to leave my memories and things behind but they had no choice.
Chapter 10
This chapter was about the family getting ready to move. They had a family meet to decide what thy were doing. Tom is hiding the fact that he will be violating his parole by going out of state. The priest makes a comment about ma saying she looks sick tired. This makes readers wonder if she is sick. She also burns her old letters which give us the impression she is hiding something. The family packs everything up kills their pigs and is ready to go when grandpa decides he doesn't want to go. The joads decide to give him some medicine that makes him go to sleep and take them along with them. The chapter concludes with the joad family on the road on the way to California.
