Chapter 21
This chapter was about how people are starving. I says of how wages get lower and lower because people are desperate. One huge farm starts up and shuts all the little ones down
Chapter 22
The family makes it to a government camp and life is going very well for them. The camp has warm water, toilets and is clean. People are friendly and civil and they are their own governments. Tom meets some friends and they say they can help him find work. They get paid 25 cents an hour and are very lucky to have found work. Back at the camp ma wakes up and begins to frantically clean and make every get nice for the ladies committee is coming to get them the rules. After the committee comes they settle down. A crazy religious lady comes and tells roasharn her baby will be dead and bloody because she is a sinner. Ma gets angry when the lady comes back and almost hits her. The manager of the camp is very friendly and caring. Pa and al and uncle John go out to look for work but they find nothing. Ma sends them to the store to get something nice for supper.
