Chapter 23
This chapter was about families and their displeasure. They didn't really have much to keep them happy and many drank. Some played the fiddle and danced. Their was hardly any rain and people were restless. They thought I was because they sinned. When rain came they were clean and they promised to never sin again
Chapter 24
This chapter was about a dance the camp was hosting. Tom was invited onto an entertainment committee which wild watch for suspicious people and cops walking around the gates. Someone told them a fight was going to break out. Of a fight breaks out then the cops can come into the camp without a warrant. Tom was in duty up at the front and these three men came in saying they were invited by Jackson o unit four. Tom had Willie ask Jackson if he invited them and he said no. The boys kept a close eye on the group and soon they tried to fight. The cops blew a whistle and said there was a fight but Willie said there wasn't. Willie asked the boys to leave and they wouldn't tell who sent them or paid them to go there. At he end pa says he feels like change is coming.
Chapter 25
This chapter talks about the ample amounts of fruits and vegetables that could have kept several lives. Since the fruit could not be picked or sold for profit then the farmers just left it to rot. People began to go and steal the fruit so they dumped kerosene on it so people couldn't eat it. They killed pigs and buried them and dumped food in the river and out guards around them so people couldn't fish it out. I think that is horrible. Just because profit couldn't be made doesn't mean that thousands should have to starve.
